Note: 40th Annual Groundhog Gallop will NOT be cancelled due to inclement weather. All reasonable attempts will be made to clear the course of snow, but there is a segment of the course that is hard to clear of built up ice. This is a winter race, please be mindful of course conditions and adjust your pace accordingly. Don't worry, it's always fun!

SUPER fun race-no matter what the weather!

Hello, I am interested in participating in the Groundhog event in February. I have ataxia and want to participate in the event, but every now and then I have to stop walking and sit and rest. So I just wanted to make sure along the rout there are places to sit and rest.

Hi! The route begins at a middle school's service drive, continues on to a road with police will have blocked to traffic, and then on to a paved running/walking trail. I don't believe there are any benches along the route, but if you needed to stop for a moment and sit on the ground, while it would be cold, it would be safe. Hope this helps with your decision.
